I had the pleasure of visiting Burgess Park post opening, wow what a beautiful place to stroll around and so proud to call this my local park it's so so beautiful and feels so safe to walk around now. I took these photo's while strolling around, this is part 1 of 2.
With Kind Regards.

I have lived around the Burgess park area, for almost my whole life. Growing up in the old 'North Peckham estate' and still living around the St Georges' way area, Burgess park has always been a major part of my life, and i hope these photos will show off, the different moods and colours the park has to show off.
By the name, you can guess this shows the park at all different times of the year, but for me the two most special times for me are spring, when all the beautiful colours of the flowers and trees start to show themselves; as if the park was asleep during the winter months.
My other favorite season of the year is autumn. The crunching of the leaves as i walk through the park in the mornings or seeing a fox in the early Saturday mist when i go for a run.
That's not to mention the other seasons of the year: Summer with the Latin American groups playing football on Saturday afternoons and of course carnaval del pueblo.
The winter, though empty and barren still has a character. I'll never forget the snow of 2010 February. So many people laughing having fun with each other.
I'm sure everybody has their own memories of the old park, and that's what make is so special. It is a corner stone of the community and my hope for the future is that Burgess park will be a part of the community for generations to come.
These were mostly taken in May 2012 and September 2011 at dusk. I like the idea that despite all the disruption the work is causing to local residents, local wildlife is flourishing, proving just how adapatble nature can be.
